Intro to the Music Video Project

With a new project being assigned, we were allowed to choose partners and I was invited into a group with Perla Caceres and Glenna Mae Tomboc. I am eminently close with them from the previous year of high school in which we spent together. I have previous experience with Glenna from our criminal justice assignments and projects, and I have worked in groups involving Perla in our AICE Global Perspectives class that we share. I have never had a problem working with either of them and they always put their best foot forward. The first initiative we took in this project was making a group chat, in which we could communicate effectively and efficiently. Our first obstacle was choosing a song to base our project off. Based on our very unique personalities, or responses were in very different directions. There were many tedious debates about what song to choose, we constantly would send options. After we debated for a while about choosing the direction we wanted to go in, we picked  one which was soft and calming song.

Going through soft and calming song options, our groupmate Glenna sent the song "Another day" by Stray Kids, a Korean based boy band. I was a bit skeptical at first because I struggled to understand how we would clearly identify a message to go with it. She convinced us by clearly explaining her plan and describing how the scenes would come out and be interpreted. After her explanation, I was really excited because I am also a huge fan of Stray Kids and listen to their music constantly. On the lock screen of my iPad, there is a collage of photos of Stray Kids.

We chose Another day because of its deep and meaningful lyrics. Glenna searched comments and lyrics and other peoples perspective’s to get the best interpretation of the songs meaning. We all connected to the song in some way; because of covid or friends or just the burn out from school. We thought this song would fit the demographic of teens, because many of us are constantly feeling the same way. As a group we realized we never make time for us anymore and it is just non-stop assignments and completing them before the deadline. Many days we just keep working and the day seems like won’t end; but the main theme of this video is to inspire time for yourself. It is to remember to do the little things that make you happy and keep thriving.
