Music Video
For our finished music video I am extremely proud of the end result. All the members worked extremely hard and it truly paid off. Our members were able to come together after long debates and hours of filming and editing to create something we all enjoy. Of course some of the things we planned out and detailed did not work out, but that is life. We made the most out of the covid situation and social distancing amongst our members. I believe my teammates are as pleased as I am with how this music video came out.
The general thought process and concepts that we came up with, were highlighted the way we wanted to by our facial expressions, the editing filter, and our movements. One of our main goals was to be relatable to many teens with the feeling of anxiousness, stress, loneliness, and being exhausted. As teens who are now experiencing things like the pandemic, fully online school, and being away from friends who we would see daily; we wanted to portray those feelings in this video. As stated in other blogs we picked the song “Another day” by the Korean-pop boy band StrayKids, we thought it would best fit the theme of our video. This concept was to really express and speak up about the stress that teens really go through and show that there should be positive outlets. As the video progresses we gradually become happier and that is the message, that we need some time to be ourselves and have peace.
My favorite scene to film in this video was scene 6, it was where I was washing my face getting ready for another day of the same stressful activities to do. I enjoyed filming this scene because I filmed it with my mom and she continuously kept laughing at me splashing water everywhere. My least favorite scene was scene 10, where I had to turn on the television watching the News. I did not like this scene because it was the most challenging one, with recently moving into a new house everything was on the floor (including the tv) and everything was under construction. We had to keep moving everything around so the shot was clear, then the positioning was not right. We also could not turn on regular news because our tv did not have an antenna at the time. Even with these circumstances, I did not want to disappoint my group members so I kept pushing and created a product that we were all satisfied with.
Things I would have done differently is the filming process. I had to re-do all of my scenes because they were filmed incorrectly. Instead of filming horizontally like the rest of the members, I filmed all the scenes vertically . Each scene did not fit in place when we were editing and it was a major obstacle in our workspace.
